Covid-19 patients enter the hospital alone, no one can tend to them, and when they’re about to pass away they feel it.
They’re lucid, no narcolepsy for them.
It’s as if they were drowning, but with all the time to understand it.
The last one was tonight.
She was a granny, she wanted to see her granddaughter. I took out my phone and video called her.
They said goodbye.
A little while later, she was gone.
I have a long list of video calls now. I call it the goodbye list. I hope they’ll give us iPads, three or four would suffice, to not let them die alone.”
